Job Description:

This role will ask you to use your research, analytical and editorial skills to help communicate LRN’s message of inspiring principled performance to a wide range of audiences.  Ideal candidate must have proven social media, research and writing experience.  Ideal candidate has proven commitment / understanding of responsible business, experience in corporate thought leadership, research or social media function and experience in working with senior leaders. Educational background in philosophy preferred.  

 

Expectations:

  • Monitor, oversee and contribute to social media and other digital channels
  • Research and track current events, industry news, research in real time
  • Research and produce content on the topics of business ethics, culture, leadership, responsibility through the lens of the LRN’s philosophy
  • Contribute to the drafting, editing, and marketing of thought leadership and whitepapers
  • Provide research briefs to senior leaders on relevant trends and prospective partners
  • Assist with research and talking points to prepare senior leaders for speaking engagements
  • Maintain database of research and thought leadership
  • Assist with ad hoc executive support and miscellaneous research needs

 

Skills & Experience:

  • 1-3 years’ experience as a writer or researcher creating published content targeting a broad audience
  • Excellent writing skills, both prose and technical
  • Keen eye for copy editing, high attention to detail, and superior grammatical skill
  • Excellent Internet research skills; ability to distill key points from larger body of research and simplify complexity
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and PowerPoint
  • Broad proficiency in social media (esp. Twitter and LinkedIn) and familiarity with social media tools and analytics
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and extract insights and new content
  • Experience writing in on topics of business, tech, leadership, culture or ethics is a major plus
  • Exposure and strong interest in moral philosophy and/or liberal arts a plus
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Sprout Social, and Twitter Analytics a plus
  • Knowledge of French, Spanish or German a plus

Education:

  • BA/BS required, Advanced degree preferred

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, while adhering to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work without a clear roadmap and think creatively to generate new ideas and solutions
  • Ability to incorporate feedback & adapt quickly, including starting over when necessary
  • Philosophically minded and familiarity with philosophical rhetoric
  • High tolerance for perfectionism and expectation of multiple draft cycles on all written content
  • High energy, passion and a team player
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • High level of personal integrity in handling sensitive information
